David Treeby
David Treeby obtained his Bachelor of Science with Honours in Mathematics at Monash University, in 2005. He later obtained his doctorate in 2018. David has taught high school mathematics since 2006, and is currently based at Scotch College, Melbourne, where he is Teacher in Charge of Extension Mathematics. David's teaching interests lie in extending students with rich and interesting problems. David is also an active research mathematician, and most of his published work is in the area of Mathematical Physics.
Michael Evans
Michael Evans has a PhD in Mathematics from Monash University and a Diploma of Education from La Trobe University. He currently holds the honorary position of Senior Consultant at the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute at the University of Melbourne. He was Head of Mathematics at Scotch College, Melbourne, and has also taught in public schools and in recent years has returned to classroom teaching. He has been very involved with curriculum development at both state and national levels. In 1999, Michael was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws by Monash University for his contribution to mathematics education.
Douglas Wallace
Douglas Wallace has been a Senior Mathematics Teacher at an Independent College in Melbourne for 20 years. He was Head of Mathematics from 1990 to 2000 and went on to lead the Senior College Curriculum as well as the International Baccalaureate Coordinator.
Gareth Ainsworth
Gareth Ainsworth completed a PhD in Mathematics and a Master of Advanced Study in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. Prior to this he completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Mathematics at Monash University. Currently, he is Head of Mathematics at Scotch College in Melbourne, where he spends his time advising secondary school students on their mathematical development and assisting them to achieve at the highest levels in the subject.
Kay Lipson
Kay Lipson has a PhD in Statistics Education, and Diploma of Education. Her experience includes over 30 years teaching mathematics and statistics at both secondary and tertiary level, as well as extensive periods as a VCE examiner. Kay is an experienced author of textbooks for the Years 11 and 12 Mathematics courses, specialising in the areas of Probability and Statistics.
