Jennifer Poore
Jennifer Poore taught Legal Studies and other commercial subjects for over 40 years in both the public and private sectors. She has worked as a consultant with the VCTA, presented at VCE Legal Studies professional learning activities and contributed articles to the Compak journal. She has written scripts and teachers' notes for educational films and texts. Since the mid-1990s, Jennifer has taken groups to stay with the Arabunna People, custodians of the Kati Thanda (Lake Eyre) region, to develop cultural awareness and appreciation amongst non-Indigenous Australians and overseas tourists. She has also presented at conferences and organised functions to promote understanding of Indigenous issues and culture.
David Adam
David Adam obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne in 2014. David currently teaches Legal Studies and Humanities at Northcote High School. He has volunteered for a number of Community Legal Centres and in recognition of his contribution to the Occupy Melbourne Legal Support Team, he was a joint recipient of the Tim McCoy Award for outstanding achievement in human rights. He is passionate about the powerful role of community legal education in maintaining a just and equitable society.
Julie Cain
Julie Cain is the Campus Principal – Senior School at Mount Waverley Secondary College. She has tutored pre-service teachers at university level, is on the Board of Directors of the Victorian Commercial Teachers Association (VCTA) and currently holds the position of President. She is an experienced VCE Business Management, Commerce and Humanities teacher. Julie spent many years assessing VCE Business Management exams, and is a regular presenter at teacher professional development sessions and the annual VCTA Comview Conference. She is also a regular contributor to the VCTA COMPAK teachers’ journal and develops assessment materials for a number of organisations.
Rebecca Irvine
Rebecca Irvine obtained her Bachelor of Arts/Laws (Hons.) from Monash University in 2013 and previously worked in criminal law. Rebecca is currently a curriculum leader, teacher, and Section Editor of the VCTA’s Compak journal. She works as a casual academic, assessing undergraduate and post-graduate students in property law subjects, and undertaking legal research in property law issues.
Carol Rowland
Carol Rowland completed a Master’s in Education at the University of Melbourne and has international accreditation as an Accredited Peer Assisted Study Supervisor (PASS). Carol has presented at International and state conferences on curriculum, co-curriculum and positive psychology, and regularly contributes to the VCTA’s Compak journal and presents at their conferences. Carol has 30 years’ experience as an educator and is committed to inspiring students to love learning. She currently teaches Legal Studies at Genazzano FCJ college.
