Highly Recommended
This is an extremely well-considered text book reflecting the breadth of experience of the authors. It is accompanied by an interactive book with hyperlinks and downloadable worksheets which are the activities in each chapter. There are links to the NSW curriculum, case studies – many of which are on Australian designers and situations - trendy images and photos. It gets better as each chapter has a glossary of terms and chapter summary. The layout is clear and there is a logical progression of information. There has even been thought on the internet links as they are stored on the Cambridge website so I don’t imagine you have to worry about 404 page not found messages. The chapters are organised so that it does not matter what design problem or material your student in working in, the theory is covered in this book, for example “Developing Design Ideas and Solutions” and Innovative, Enterprising and Creative Design Ideas and Solutions.
