This workshop will focus on the implementation of the Australian Curriculum in Year 7 Mathematics and the benefits this will bring to students’ engagement with the curriculum in Year 8 and beyond. Key Australian Curriculum content will be discussed along with the proficiency strands (Understanding, Fluency, Problem Solving and Reasoning).  A curriculum framework program will be outlined through the eyes of the Essential Mathematics texts and online resources, along with some practical ideas around differentiation and enrichment.


This workshop is ideal for teachers at schools introducing Year 7 in 2015, as well as existing Year 7 teachers wanting to improve their understanding of the Australian Curriculum.
